Lessons will get you going much quicker
Luck favours the prepared…and although you’re probably eager to join everyone else up on the mountain, it’s a good idea to learn the basics before you head out.
Clicking into a pair of skis or strapping on a snowboard for the first time can be a little daunting, but learning the basics isn’t too difficult and after a lesson or two, you’ll be full of confidence.
Each Victorian snow resort has snow sports professionals on hand to show you how to navigate yourself on the snow – with everything from learning how to glide, stop and turn, to the all-important chairlift dismount. Lessons will instruct you on technique, but also on safety and etiquette on the slopes.
Taking lessons will make a big difference in your overall experience and get you seeing more of the mountain quickly and safely. Instructors at the Victorian resorts are qualified by a world standard and receive continuous on-going training to ensure you get the best lessons possible.
Lessons are affordable – some resorts include a free first lesson in their resort packages – and are available for any age. There are lessons for skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing, with classes for all levels from beginners to expert.
Even if you think you’ve got this snow stuff all sorted out, taking a lesson can also be a great way to brush up on your technique if you haven’t been to the snow for a season or more.
